TL;DR

  • PowerPoint export is a Pro feature on MakeMyDeck.
  • Export uses layout JSON — not screenshots — so text stays editable.
  • Open in PowerPoint, Keynote, or Google Slides and do a 2-minute QA pass.

Your AI deck looks great in the browser. Then someone asks: 'Can you send this as PowerPoint?' Here is how to export without surprises — and how to keep slides editable after handoff. If you are evaluating tools, start with our AI PowerPoint generator guide.

Before you export

  • Finish copy edits in the MakeMyDeck editor.
  • Wait for Unsplash stock images to finish loading on image slides.
  • Confirm you are on Pro — export requires a Pro subscription.
  • Skim speaker notes if you added them inline as body text.

Export steps

  1. Open your presentation in `/editor/[id]`.
  2. Click Export (or use the export action in the editor chrome).
  3. The server renders `.pptx` from your layout JSON via `pptxgenjs`.
  4. Download the file — naming follows your deck title.
  5. Open in Microsoft PowerPoint, Apple Keynote, or upload to Google Slides.

2-minute QA in PowerPoint

  1. Spot-check slide 1 and the metrics slide — most typos hide there.
  2. Verify images loaded (not broken placeholders).
  3. Run slideshow mode — font sizes readable from the back of the room?
  4. If your company requires a template master, paste slides into the master deck.

FAQ

Why are my exported slides not editable?+

Some tools export images. MakeMyDeck exports structured slides. If text is not editable, confirm you exported from MakeMyDeck Pro, not a screenshot tool.

Can I export to Google Slides directly?+

Upload the .pptx to Google Drive and open with Google Slides. Layout may shift slightly — adjust in Slides if needed.

Is export included in credits?+

Export does not consume generation credits on Pro. Generation and AI editor actions use credits separately.
